Info from the instructor:
“The term “aerobic means” with air” with oxygen.” Aerobic exercise uses muscles in a rhythmical and continuous fashion. It is any physical exercise that requires additional effort by the heart and lungs to meet the increased demand by the skeletal muscles for oxygen. Over time, heart and lung efficiency is improved with regular participation in aerobic activity

Salsa-Cise Aerobics combines exercise and dance movements into routines that are performed to Latin American music. Having fun is the key to sticking with any exercise program. When something is fun, we usually welcome the chance to do it again.

Aerobic exercise, such as Salsa-Cise Aerobics, is a fun way to get fit. It combines fat-burning aerobic movements, muscle-building exercises, and stretching into routines that are performed to South American music such as Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, etc..

Fitness through regular aerobic exercise greatly reduces the risk of getting lifestyle diseases such as heart disease, stroke, diabetes, cancer, obesity, and high blood pressure. Get moving if you want to be healthy, fit, and trim. So why not?. Add Salsa-Cise Aerobics to your fitness program and stay fit and healthy and have a lot of fun.

Aerobic exercise produce systemic benefits if it:

  • Lasts at least 30 minutes without stopping
  • Gets you breathing deeply but not out of breath and
  • Uses the muscles primarily in the legs”

German Lesson!

Katrin teaches German to children and adults.

Katrin Werner
E-mail: katrinkwerner@gmail.com
home: 024514094623
cell: 015778348827

From Katrin:
“I am a middle school teacher and I am in school since 1997. I teach German, Italian and Art at the REALSCHULE UEBACH-PALENBERG. Besides my work in school I give private lessons in my office in Uebach-Palenberg. It makes sense that the child is at least five years old. It helps if the child is already able to write. I ask 14 Euro for a full our. If I take more than one child at the same time the rate is 10 Euro for each child. There can’t be more than 3 children together. I ask 12 Euro seeing a child everyday (extensive course). For the time schedule the best thing is to talk to the parents…I am quite flexible on this. I believe that we should help the kids most we can, as their lives become much more easy knowing German while they stay in Germany. Their situation in school is often very difficult and parents are always right giving further help. The German school system can’t do enough for them…At this moment I can start teaching three more children. My work is very creative. The student will improve his/her German skills playing, so that the child won’t feel the pressure of studying. My office is near the real supermarket at Uebach-Palenberg. Please let me know if you have further questions…”

What is Zumba?: ZUMBA is a Latin-inspired, dance-fitness class that incorporates Latin and International music and movements, which create a dynamic, exciting, and effective fitness system! This class format combines fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body in an aerobic/fitness fashion to achieve a unique blended balance of cardio and muscle-toning benefits. Zumba integrates some of the basic principles of aerobic, interval, and resistance training to maximize caloric output, cardiovascular benefits, and total body toning. The cardio-based dance movements are easy-to follow steps that include body sculpting, which targets areas such as gluteals, legs, arms, core, abdominals and the most important muscle in the body, the heart.

Time of year: Spring

Lodging:
La Casa
53013 Gaiole, Chianti, Siena
Tel: 0039-0577-738-707

Cooking Holiday: The class included a welcome reception, three evening cooking classes, a day time wine tasting/vineyard tour, and a daytime trip to the market. The evening meals were included after you cook it. The class was about $1100 which included my lodging. I went with a friend and we both took our families. Since the cost of the class included one villa, we split the cost of another villa and each family got their own. There was an in-ground pool and lots of other things to do in the area. The old Italian ladies were so impressed with our husbands coming with us and caring for the kids while we went to the class that they made sure we had lots of food for the families at the end of the night.

Things to do in the area: Florence, San Gimignano, Livorno, Siena, and Lucca.

Recommendations: We used Epiculinary to book the class, but call direct for better rates (the number for La Casa). On the drive we stopped at Camp Darby for two nights. We bought marble in Carerra, toured Pisa, and enjoyed the beach. On the drive back, we stayed at Camp Ederle.
